Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Rome

Arrival at Fiumicino Airport in Rome and transfer to your hotel. Free time to freshen up, then meet your local guide and enjoy a 3-hour guided tour of Baroque Rome, including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. Overnight: Rome

Day 2: Vatican Museums

Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a free morning in Rome to explore Ancient Rome with the Coliseum and Roman Forum, or visit the Trastevere District. Optional half-day tour to Pisa available. After an independent lunch, visit the Vatican with Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica to discover Bernini’s breathtaking Papal Canopy and Michelangelo’s stunning Pieta. Overnight: Rome

Day 3: Christian Rome

Guided tour of the three main basilicas of Rome: Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica (built in 356 after the miracle snowfall), San Giovanni in Laterano Basilica with the Holy Staircase steps (which according to tradition, Jesus climbed in Pontius Pilate’s residence), and St. Paul Outside the Walls Basilica (the second largest basilica in Rome, built on Saint Paul’s tomb). Independent lunch, then visit San Callisto’s Catacombs, 300km of tunnels carved out of the soft tufa rock. Overnight: Rome

Day 4: Departure

Depart for the airport for your flight back home, or to your next destination.
